Wickham’s Martial Arts Centre is located on the corner of Service and Hovell Street, Echuca, with the main entrance facing Hovell Street at 81 Service Street.

Wickham’s began with a simple but powerful idea. After experiencing first-hand the positive impact martial arts had on his own life and the lives of those around him, Matt Wickham set out with a dream to one day own his own dojo. What started as a small group of one student training in the Bamawm Extension Hall slowly grew as people began to see the value in what was being built.

As the club expanded, training moved through church halls and town halls across the region. With every move, the goal stayed the same: to create a place people could trust. A place that would last. A place where individuals and families could build confidence, skill, and a sense of belonging over time.

That commitment is what shaped Wickham’s into what it is today. Built on consistency, hard work, and genuine care for its members, the dojo became more than just a training space. It became a community.

Our motto, “Train today. Train for life.” reflects this belief. Martial arts is not something you rush. It’s a long-term journey that builds discipline, confidence, and resilience, skills that carry well beyond the mats.

Today, Wickham’s Martial Arts Centre offers a complete program focused on self defence, fitness, and family-friendly training. Whether you’re joining us as a child, teenager, adult, or returning student, we aim to provide a safe, supportive environment where people of all ages can train with purpose.

We are proud of our team of instructors and assistant instructors, who bring experience, energy, and care to every class. No matter where you’re starting from, they are here to support your journey.

For more than 10 years, this has been our story. We continue to show up, open the doors, and encourage both long-time and new members to step onto the mats, commit to the craft, and build their own legacy through martial arts.
